Annapurna Base Camp is surrounded by some of the highest peaks in the world like The Annapurna I that is 8,091 metres, the Annapurna II that is 7,219 metres, Hiunchuli which is 6,441 metres and Machhapuchhre is 6,993 metres. Annapurna Base Camp is nestled in the Annapurna Sanctuary National Park. From Pokhara many agencies organise this Annapurna Base Camp trek.
Basically you need two permits for doing this trek.One is Trekkers Information Management System(TIMS).The cost is Rs 2000 to 3000 per person. This cost is equal to about 15 EUR and 17 USD.This permit is important for every trekker. Another is an entry permit that can be purchased from Pokhara. You need to start your trek as early as possible because It often gets windy in the afternoon.
How To Reach At Pokhara:
By Road-
From Sunauli and from Kathmandu you can take buses. Local buses are available at the new bus stand that is in Kathmandu. Luxury tourist buses like the Greenline are also available at the tourist bus station. You can take buses from Kantipath. From Kantipath all buses leave at 7 am in the morning. These buses take 6 hours to reach Pokhara.
By Air-
One can take a direct flight from New Delhi or other major cities to Kathmandu.Then you can take a flight to Pokhara directly.

Kathmandu to Pokhara:
Day 1
The Annapurna Base Camp trek starts from many villages which are close to Pokhara. After arriving at Pokhara you need to stay here.
Pokhara to Kande then Ghandruk
Day 2
You can arrive at Kande from Pokhara by buses or taxi.You can take a bus to Nayapul. Annapurna Base Camp Trek will be downhill to Birethanti by crossing a suspension bridge that is built over the Burundi river. Here you will sign some formalities with the forest authorities.
Following this route the trek starts to climb upwards towards the Ghandruk.Trek to Ghandruk is basically flat.Here you can enjoy the lush green forests,chirping of some small birds,peaceful environment.Spend overnight at Ghandruk.
Ghandruk to Sinuwa
Day 3
In the morning you will leave the Ghandruk village and trek towards Sinuwa.The total distance is 12 kilometres that takes 4 to 5 hours of walk to complete. Here you will be crossing many boulders. From here the trail becomes a little steeper till you reach the Gurung Village by crossing the Jhinu Danda. At Jhinu Danda you can enjoy the natural hot spring and this is amazing.You need to cross another suspension bridge over the Chhomrong river.Near Chhomrong river there is a very steep ascent from this bridge to Chhomrong. After arriving at the lower Sinuwa you need to stay here overnight.
Sinuwa to Deurali
Day 4
Sinuwa to Deurali is just 14 kilometres and can be completed in 4 hours.Start trekking from Sinuwa to Kuldhigar.This is another day with lots of ups and downs.
At this part a stone staircase will take you to the Dobhan through a suspension bridge.On this route you can experience rhododendron, Oak forest and bamboo forest.After trekking through the Himalaya you will be reaching to your location,Deurali.Stay overnight here.
Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp
Day 5
On this day you will begin the final stretch towards the amazing Annapurna Base Camp which will give you such a great adrenaline rush.
A walk along the river Modi will take you to the Bagar.Bagar is the starting point of the Machhapuchhre base camp.Here you can spend some beautiful time then you need to head towards the Annapurna Base Camp.
After trekking or hiking a little more you will reach the base camp of the Annapurna.On a clear sunny day you will have a 360 degree view of some of the highest mountains in the world around you and this experience will be unforgettable.The amazing Annapurna is the home to 102 mammals,1226 species of plants, 474 birds.Overnight at a camp of Annapurna Base Camp will be an unforgettable journey of your life.
