The lockdown has been a life-changing experience for one and all irrespective of their age or financial status. Some people lost their loved ones while many others lost their jobs. Children have been hit the hardest. Their formative years have seen an unusual time that will definitely have an impact on their psychology for the longest of time. Not having to move out and meet people is quite cruel for a toddler who is just trying to explore their social environment. It is absolutely too much to ask from them to not move out for such long periods of time like the lockdown. The little heroes have endured enough and done everything that was asked of them. It is time that they move out and plays whether in their respective play areas or schools. They need to go back there full of enthusiasm while following safety protocols. Here is a list of things that all parents need to look out for before finally sending their wards to school.
BOOKS AND UNIFORM
Whenever there is an announcement of the schools reopening in the offline mode, start consolidating all the stuff that is to be used by your kids for school. The school uniforms, books, and required stationery should be collected at least a week before the reopening of the schools to be well prepared. Be careful about the sizes of the school uniform and footwear to avoid last-minute crises. It will take them some time to get readjusted and for that, the basic conditions and rules should be followed from day one which is the responsibility of the parents.
GET VACCINATED
If you are sure about the safety of any particular type of covid vaccine and they have been introduced for your child’s age group, vaccinate your child beforehand. The antibodies that will be generated will definitely help your child to be safe from infections. It is better to be cautious than to be sorry later. The virus is still lurking around and it needs to be stopped and children need to be protected the most.
ALWAYS MAKE YOUR CHILD WEAR A MASK
It is the new normal now to know that a virus is around that can take an ugly turn anytime and make you sick. Children being vulnerable should be masked all the time and should be educated about the consequences of not following the basic protocols. They need to sanitize and follow social distancing all the time. It is quite a difficult task but will become the norm over time and would not be difficult to follow at all.
BE SURE ABOUT THE PROTOCOLS FOLLOWED BY THE SCHOOL
The school needs to be responsible too with respect to how they plan to reopen the educational institutes. They will have to sanitize the space every day and monitor students for any symptoms. It is their responsibility too, to take all the necessary precautions to avoid any outbreak. Parents need to check with the school authorities whether the necessary precautions are being taken or not.
BE KIND AND PATIENT
Be kind to your children. They are going through unusual times and need to be guided with patience. Being understanding and considerate is the key for taking them on board in accepting the new normal.
It is quite difficult for the parents to send their wards to schools again. Parents cannot guard their children all the time from the pandemic and the educational sector has to be restarted as soon as possible. It will need a lot of effort from parents and schools to bring the whole process back on track. It will definitely take some time to normalize it but it is not an impossible task.
